Traveline is the new national website
for all public transport throughout the UK. It is new and
ambitious, and may have some bugs, but is well worth looking
at for planning any journey.
Bus transport: there are several
companies, and Gwynedd Council keeps timetables of them. You will find timetables
in pdf format here.
There are plenty of taxi services around.
If you go to Bangor station you will almost certainly pick one
up there: a good local firm is A2B taxis run by Hefin
and Carolyn. Phone them on 01286 871135
Weather and tides
There are many weather stations
and forecasts for the short-term, and some things, like the times
of high and low tides, can be predicted accurately. First, why not
take a look at Snowdon as it looks at this moment? You will find
various webcams on the First
Hydro Site here.
For daily weather forecasts, try these
two: one supplied by the Met Office
for Snowdonia itself, and this other, which is more specific
to particular mountain areas and is updated every 3 hours, from
Metcheck.com
For information about tides around
the coasts here, try the BBC website here
