We welcome everyone to Plas Coch, irrespective of age, race, class, sexual orientation or disability.
Certain of our guests have particular needs and we have adapted our B&B accommodation to meet these needs as well
as we can.
In particular:
- We have a good parking facilities on level tarmac on site and very close to the front door of the house.
- Usual access is by two steps (total height
about 40 cm). Alternative access is by well-built portable ramp which can be
left in place throughout your stay.
- Registered support dogs are welcome. Pets are not allowed, in
order to cater for guests with allergies.
- Front door, dining-room, guest lounge and
one ground-floor en-suite bedroom are all level access with doors
wide enough to accommodate an electric wheelchair. Distances between
these are no more than 6 or 7 metres.
- The ground-floor bedroom can be set up as
a double or a twin-bedded room. The beds can be arranged so that
a wheelchair user can navigate all parts of the room. Light switches,
door handles, television and tea-making facilities are at wheelchair
height. The kettle is cordless. The television has remote-control
and includes a radio.
- The en-suite bathroom for the ground-floor
bedroom has BS standard sanitary fittings including wall-mounted
washbasin and level access shower. There are several grab-rails,
and a sturdy shower-seat. There is space in the bathroom for transfer
from wheelchair to shower-seat. There is a hinged grab-rail on your
right-hand side from the toilet. There is full access to the toilet
from this side, limited access from the front, and no access from
the left. Tiling and grab-rails are colour-contrasting.
- We can provide breakfasts for those with special dietary requirements including vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free.
- Staff are knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, the needs of people with disabilities.
