Plas Coch is a beautiful mid-19th Century stone-built
house, which now provides 8 en-suite
bedrooms. We offer double, twin and family rooms, and have one room
adapted for physically-disabled users. All of
our rooms offer facilities for making hot drinks, as well as bottles of
Welsh sparkling mineral water. Each room has television and hair dryer
provided, as well as free access to wireless
broadband internet. If you wish, we can also provide a small fridge.
Most rooms include a seating area with two comfortable easy chairs. In
addition to the en-suite facilities in each room, there is another
bathroom in the house for families and those who like the luxury of a
soak in the tub. The accommodation is completed to Welsh Tourist Board
four-star standard.
We offer breakfast between 8.00am and 9.30
am (8.30 until 10.00 on Sundays). In the dining room you will find
newspapers and an internet-connected computer for you to use freely,
with an extensive menu of breakfasts served at individual tables. The
menu features a range of meat, fish, egg, vegetarian and vegan dishes,
and uses wherever possible organic and locally-sourced high-quality
ingredients (including premium sausages and home-cured bacon from
Q-butcher Owen Glyn Owen in Caernarfon). Fish dishes are always
available, including kegeree, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and
Manx kippers. There is a good selection of vegetarian items. At the
sideboard you will find organic muesli as well as a range of packaged
cereals, organic yogurts, fresh oranges and grapefruit with an electric
juicer, and toasters for you to use. We were pleased that in the Welsh
Tourist Board inspection of October 2005, the breakfasts were rated as
excellent.
We can offer special diets of all kinds, including dairy- and
gluten-free. We are happy to cater for any other special diets, though a
bit of notice helps. For families with young children, a microwave is
available in the breakfast room at all times.
The Guest Lounge is equipped with television, DVD/CD player, and books
and toys for all ages. You can help yourself to hot drinks in here, and
to alcoholic and soft drinks, or chilled water, from the self-service
bar in the dining-room.
Plas Coch stands in its own grounds (with ample parking for all our
guests) on the High Street in the centre of Llanberis village. We are only 500 metres from the
"Llanberis path" up Snowdon, from the mountain railway, and from the
other attractions of the village.
There are several places to eat within about 100 metres from our
door.
